TYPE:Meeting point of the Stomach meridian with the Large Intestine, Smal Intestine, San Jiao, and Gall Bladder meridians
LOCATION:In the supraclavicular area, posterior to the superior border of the clavicle, in the depression at the middle of the superior border of the clavicle and directly above the nipple, 4 cun lateral to the midline
NEEDLE INSERTION:90° along the posterior boarder of clavicle
NEEDLE DEPTH:0.3-0.5 cun
TCM ACTION:Descends Lung Qi, clears Heat from the chest, activates the channel and alleviates pain
INDICATIONS:Cough, coughing blood, dyspea, fullness of the chest, throat painful obstruction, wheezing, sore throat, pain of the supraclavicular fossa, pain of the shoulder that radiates to the neck, numbness and painful obstruction of the upper limb, inability to raise the arm
CAUTIONS & CONTRAINDICATIONS:Deep or posterior insertion may injure the subclavian vessels or puncture the lung. Contraindicated in pregnancy.
NOTES & COMMENTS:As meeting point of Yang channels (excluding UB), can be used for treating Yang disorders.
